Michael Eisenberg
Eisenberg joined Benchmark Capital in 2005 and works from Benchmark’s Israeli headquarters near Tel Aviv . Before joining Benchmark, he was a partner at Israel Seed Partners for eight years. Prior he was the vice president of investment banking at Jerusalem Global Ventures. His current investments include Conduit, Digital Fuel, Finjan, Funtactix, Gigya, Seeking Alpha, TuneWiki and Zlango. He was ranked as the number one VC on the Forbes Israel "Midas List."
Eisenberg sits on the Board of Yeshivat Har Etzion, the largest Hesder yeshiva in Israel, combining Army service and Torah study. He previously sat on the Board of the non-profit, Snunit, which works to bring technology into Israel’s elementary schools. Eisenberg is a cofounder of Scoop, Israel’s only citizen journalism site.
Additionally, Eisenberg has blogged about his professional and personal life at “Six Kids and a Full Time Job” since 2005. He writes on investing, the economy and entrepreneurship, as well as the adventures of having seven children. On his blog he issued an early warning in January 2008 of the U.S. recession. Eisenberg is a frequent speaker at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and at the Inter-disciplinary Center in Herzilya, Israel, as well as industry events on venture capital and technology.
Eisenberg was born in New York on May 18, 1971. He received his BA in Political Science from Yeshiva University in New York. Eisenberg is an Orthodox Jew. He lives with his wife and their seven children in Jerusalem.
