Joanna Przetakiewicz is a Polish fashion designer and entrepreneur, founder & creative director of La Mania brand, born in Warsaw, currently living in London. Legal counsel by profession. She studied Law at Warsaw University.
In 1992, while in the third year of her studies, she founded one of the first networks of dental clinics – Vita Dent. It was the second private clinic in Poland.
With the strong support of her close friend, Karl Lagerfeld, she turned her first love - fashion - into a business and so, at the end of 2010, the stylish prêt-a-porter womenswear label was founded. La Mania has become a market leader in Joanna's home country - Poland with boutiques in four main Polish cities.
Now, with the collection stocked at Harrods International Designer Floor and in Dubai, La Mania has definitely announced her arrival on the world stage.
Joanna is currently a patron of the Serpentine Gallery and member of the British Fashion Council Trust Fund, and takes an active part in the most important cultural and fashion events in the UK.
Moreover, Joanna is strongly involved in charity activities. She is establishing a foundation in Poland to fight loneliness and preparing a mental mentoring program with psychologists from Harvard for depressed and lonely people.
In the years 2014-2015, Joanna was a juror of the Polish edition of Project Runway show broadcast by TVN. Along with topmodel Anja Rubik and renowned photographer Marcin Tyszka she supported young designers in their road to success.
Joanna actively supports various campaigns in the worlds of fashion and art. She regularly sponsors young artists’ exhibitions, as well as various cultural events both in the UK and in Poland.
